Since the early 1980s Pearl Fryar has patiently sculpted his plants into all kinds of shapes at his home in Bishopville, SC.  He has over 300 topiary of evergreens.  He uses abrovitae, cedar, dogwood, cypress, fir, holly, juniper, spruce, and other shrubs.  If you are ever driving on I-95 in South Carolina, take a side trip to go to this man's acre as I did.  You can walk around his yard and take pictures.  He has been the subject of articles, TV shows, and even a documentary.
