My trip was 34 days and yes I missed my wife.  I had 25 nights at campqrounds, $794, averaging $24 daily for the total trip.  (the free nights at my sister's helped the average - thanks sis) Total spent on gas was 997.63 for a daily  average of $29.34.  I climbed 12 lighthouses.  4 were free.  The other 8 averaged $5 each.  I did 8 cycling trips, including over 100 miles of the C&O canal towpath.  Five hiking trips, hiking around Williamsburg, St
Mary Historic City, Cold Spring Historic Village, some of the Appalachian Trail, and the Beaufort historic district.  Many things were free.  Roanoke National Park, Williamsburg if you don't get a ticket to go in the homes, 4 lighthouses, 2 historic districts, the C&O canal museums and cycling the towpath, valley forge, Harpers Ferry, walking the Appalachian trail, Washington DC mall, maritime museum, and Ft Macon.  7 museums had a charge averaging $9 each.  Of the total fees for climbing and museums, it averaged $3.28 per day.  Food was just groceries as I ate in the camper or from my cooler or backpack.  I got stickers of some of the places I had been (such as "I climbed the -- lighthouse " ) and put them on the back of my camper.  They averaged 2.99 each.
